The Trust aims to:

Help fight endemic diseases and improve community healthcare by providing the necessary facilities, specialists, medicines and increasing awareness.
Help and support the education of children from deprived families by improving the existing education system.
Provide urgent aid to those in poverty by responding to emergencies and natural disasters
Provide support for the local community in events related to common flooding, the destruction of local housing and the associated spread of disease.
Support and advocate women’s causes by securing women’s rights to access education, healthcare and other required services.
We hope to achieve all of our objectives by working with local community organisations and other partner organisations – namely registered charities.

Background

Illiteracy is widely spreading amongst the villagers of the River Nile state. Within the primary targeted area, a small fraction of children are completing their primary education. Infections and water born diseases are wide spreading. One survey among local school pupils revealed that 96% were infected by Schistosomiasis, a water borne parasitic condition that is known to cause terminal liver disease. Elsulaimaniya Trust was registered as a charity in Scotland in November 2009 (Registered Scottish Charity No: SC041063) in an effort to combat this.

Our Partners

The Trust’s policy is to provide its services by working with local community organisations. Primarily, we are partnered with the Abdulrahim Elyas Charitable Association for Development (ACAD). This is an organisation registered with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in Sudan. Their efforts started by initiating small agricultural schemes in the area. This lead to the establishment of the first primary school and medical treatment unit in 1969. More recently, they initiated small local development projects and training programs.

The heavenly religions, as well as noble customs and traditions—along with international charters, agreements, and treaties—call for standing beside the weak and vulnerable members of society, particularly victims of natural disasters and conflicts. This stems from the principles of solidarity, compassion, and cooperation in righteousness and good deeds.Rural areas are considered among the least developed regions. Communities in these areas suffer from a lack of healthcare and educational services, and there is often an absence of awareness and enlightenment programs. This has led to the spread of ignorance and the persistence of harmful customs and traditions. In addition, declining economic capacity has expanded the number of people in need, including the poor, the elderly, orphans, widows, and those suffering from chronic illnesses. For all these reasons, a group of generous individuals came together to establish this association to serve as support and assistance for those in need. The association seeks to mobilise available energies, utilise networks and relationships, and open the door to volunteering, contributing alongside other local, regional, and international humanitarian and voluntary organisations—as well as official institutions and community leaders—to promote community development and progressتدعو الأديان السماوية والأعراف والتقاليد السمحة فضلاً عن المواثيق العالمية والاتفاقيات والعهود الدولية الى الوقوف بجانب الضعفاء من فئات المجتمع خاصة ضحايا الكوارث الطبيعية والنزاعات من باب التكافل والتراحم والتعاون على البر والتقوى. ... Families across El-Fashir and the wider Darfur region are enduring a level of hardship that few can imagine. Conflict, displacement, and a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation have left countless people without access to basic necessities such as food, medical care, and safe shelter. In response, a collective of Sudanese influencers and creators has launched the “Influencers’ Initiative”, a grassroots appeal calling on global communities to stand with those in urgent need. By pooling their voices and reach, these digital creators aim to mobilise meaningful support and shine a light on a crisis too often overlooked. The initiative invites supporters to contribute any amount they can, helping provide life-saving food supplies, essential medicines, and emergency shelter to families struggling to survive. More than a fundraiser, this movement represents a commitment to restoring hope, dignity, and stability across Darfur — one act of solidarity at a time.At its core, the campaign is a reminder that collective compassion can transcend borders. Even in the darkest moments, communities can come together to protect and uplift one another.#DonateToday#SupportDarfur#HelpElFashir#HumanityForDarfur#StandWithElFashir#DarfurRelief#CrisisAppeal#GiveHope#TogetherForHumanity#EveryDonationMattersDonate here: square.link/u/2wVD0uEw ...
